L'Oréal Expands RNA Research into Nail Health
07/05/2025 • by The RAM Institute
L’Oréal has expanded its research partnership with South Korean biotechnology company OliX Pharmaceuticals to investigate RNA interference (RNAi) technologies for nail health.
The collaboration builds on an existing agreement focused on hair loss and will explore whether RNAi can be used to target genes involved in nail growth and nail disorders.
RNAi works by selectively silencing specific genes, offering a potential approach to treating conditions at a molecular level.
Under the expanded agreement, OliX will apply its proprietary RNAi platform to identify and develop candidate molecules, while L’Oréal will hold exclusive global rights to develop and commercialise products arising from the collaboration.
The announcement reflects growing interest in RNA-based technologies within regenerative medicine and dermatology.
